이는 그리스어 'idiotes'가 가진 본래의 의미를 반영하는 것인데, 이 단어로부터 현재 쓰이는 'idiot'나 'idiocy'의 의미가 파생되었다: "자신의 사적인 일에만 관심을 가질 뿐 더 넓은 공동체의 일에는 무관심한 사람."

사회적 자본
